Travel Checklist with Popcorn

Heading on a trip? Use this quick checklist to make sure everything’s set before you go. ✅

Written by Daniel Walsh

Your number travels with you, so you can stay connected anywhere without swapping SIMs or worrying about roaming fees. Just make sure the settings below are in place before you go.

🛫 Before you travel:

📱 1. Set Popcorn for "Cellular Data"

This ensures your device uses Popcorn for data. If you only have one active eSIM and it's the Popcorn eSIM, your device will already be using that, so there's no need to change any settings.

iPhone

  • Go to Settings

  • Tap Cellular > Cellular Data

  • Select your Popcorn eSIM

Android

  • Go to Settings

  • Tap Network and Internet > SIMs

  • Under "Your Primary Sims" (if available):

    • Choose your Popcorn eSIM for Mobile data

📞 2. Set Popcorn as your "Default Voice Line"

This makes sure calls go through your Popcorn number. If you only have one active eSIM and it's the Popcorn eSIM, your device will already be using that, so there's no need to change any settings.

iPhone

  • Go to Settings

  • Tap Cellular > Default Voice Line

  • Select your Popcorn eSIM

Android

  • Go to Settings

  • Tap Network and Internet > SIMs

  • Under "Your Primary Sims" (if available):

    • Choose your Popcorn eSIM for Calls

🌐 3. Turn on Data Roaming

This allows your phone to connect to roaming partners abroad.

iPhone

  • Go to Settings (⚙️)

  • Tap Cellular > Your Popcorn eSIM

  • Turn Data Roaming ON

Android

  • Go to Settings

  • Tap Network and Internet > SIMs > Your Popcorn eSIM

  • Turn Roaming ON

🛬 When you arrive:

📶 Check your connection

Give your device a minute or two to connect to a local network.

If needed:

  • Toggle Airplane Mode ON and OFF

  • Make sure your Popcorn eSIM is turned on

🚀 You're good to go!

Safe travels and enjoy staying connected with Popcorn. 🍿
