Why doesn’t my number work on WhatsApp?

Troubleshooting WhatsApp verification issues.📟

Issues while verifying your Popcorn number on WhatsApp can happen with new or recently assigned numbers. WhatsApp uses its own fraud detection systems, and sometimes numbers may not be recognized yet, be flagged as VoIP or not fully propagated across carrier databases.

🔧 Things you can try:

1. Link your number to a Meta account (recommended). This can help WhatsApp recognize your number faster.

  • Open the Instagram app

  • Go to Settings → Accounts Center → Profiles → Contact Info

  • Tap Add new contact and add your phone number

  • Then try verifying again in WhatsApp

2. Wait a bit before retrying. New numbers may take some time to be recognized across networks. Wait 24–72 hours and try again.

3. Request a new number (if needed). Sometimes switching to a different number resolves the issue immediately. You can reach out to support and we can issue a new eSIM/number so you can try verification again.

4. Try both verification methods. WhatsApp offers SMS verification or voice call verification. If SMS fails, try the call option!

⚠️ Keep in mind

Popcorn numbers are real numbers, but because they’re new and globally routed, it may take time for platforms like WhatsApp to fully recognize them as standard mobile numbers.

Still stuck?

If you’re still unable to verify your number, reach out to support and we’ll help assign you a new one.
