Popcorn works globally, but occasional data issues can happen depending on your location, device settings, or local network conditions.
🌍 Why this can happen?
Popcorn uses a US-based eSIM that works globally, which means your data may sometimes be routed through the US before reaching your location.
In some cases, this can result in slight latency or slower speeds depending on the network.
🔧 Quick checks to get you back online
1. Check your active eSIMs and make sure:
Your Popcorn eSIM is turned ON and that other eSIMs aren’t interfering with connectivity by turning them OFF.
2. Make sure Popcorn is selected for Cellular Data. Your phone may be using another SIM for data.
Go to: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data > Select your Popcorn eSIM
3. Make sure Data Roaming is ON. Popcorn relies on roaming to connect globally.
Go to: Settings > Cellular > [Popcorn eSIM] > Data Roaming >Toggle ON
4. Check your network settings for 5G.
Go to: Settings > Cellular > [Popcorn eSIM] > Voice & Data > Set to 5G Auto (or LTE if 5G isn’t available)
5. Select a different network manually. Sometimes the default carrier isn’t the strongest in your area.
Go to: Settings > Cellular > [Popcorn eSIM] > Network Selection > Turn Automatic OFF > Try another available network
6. Restart your phone. A quick restart can refresh your connection and resolve temporary issues.
Most issues are resolved with the steps above but if not, we’re here to help you get connected as quickly as possible!
